The PICCC Research Advisory guides research planning and strategic direction for the Centre. The Advisory's key role is in evaluating new research and funding opportunities, and recommending and linking collaborative teams of researchers from PICCC partner organisations to respond to opportunities.

The Advisory is comprised of key researchers and managers from Agriculture Victoria (a portfolio of the Victorian Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources) and the University of Melbourne's Faculties of Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences, Science and Engineering.
