A changing climate will provide significant challenges for Australia’s primary industries – risks and opportunities that must be addressed by efficient and effective research, development and extension (RDE).
Climate change is both a complex policy and RDE issue. There is a need for an integrated approach between policy research and biophysical research, and adaptation and mitigation RDE.
The University of Melbourne offers significant strength in research, develeopment and education related to climate change and the primary industries. To date, PICCC has successfully brokered over 30 large collaborative projects with a total value of more than $70 million.
